14th BRICS Summit 2022

PM Modi was participated in the 14th BRICS summit 2022 hosted by China in virtual format on 23rd June & 24th June.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on 21th June announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi attend the annual summit of the five-nation grouping of BRICS on 23rd June & 24th June, following the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

14th BRICS Summit 2022

BRICS (Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa) brings together the 5 largest developing countries in the world, representing 41% of the global population, 24% of global GDP & 16% of global trade.

“At the invitation of President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was participated in the 14th BRICS summit hosted by China in virtual format on 23rd June & 24th June. This includes a high-level dialogue on global development with guest countries on 24th June. ” Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Prime Minister said, BRICS (Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa) member countries have also strengthened people-to-people contacts by enhancing communication through BRICS youth summits, BRICS sports, civil society organizations, think tanks. He thanked the BRICS member countries for organizing yoga programs on International Day of Yoga.
