  • A 20-year-old man in Iran Afshin Esmail Ghadarzadeh is the world’s shortest living person with a measurement of 65.24 cm (2 ft 1.6 in).
  • He is almost 7 cm (2.7 in) shorter than the previous record holder, 36-year-old Edward “Nino” Hernandez (Colombia).
  • Afsheen is the fourth shortest person verified by Guinness World Records. He was taken to the Dubai office where three measurements were taken over the course of 24 hours, resulting in the precise record height.
  • Afshin was discovered in a remote village located in Bukhan County, West Azerbaijan Province of Iran. He can speak both Kurdish and Persian, using the Farsi dialect.
  • He was born with a body weight of 700 g (1.5 lb) and has now grown to approximately 6.5 kg (14.3 lb).
