50 electric buses were launched in Delhi under the FAME India Phase II scheme of the Ministry of Heavy Industry.

Union Heavy Industries Minister Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey said that under the FAME India Phase II scheme of the Ministry of Heavy Industry (MHI), City/STU/State Governments have placed supply orders for 3,538 electric buses.
Out of these 3,538 electric buses, a total of 1,716 electric buses have been deployed till 2nd January 2023.
A total of 250 buses have already been deployed by DTC and now remaining 50 electric buses are being provided to DTC fulfilling the commitment of Ministry of Heavy Industry to provide 300 electric buses.
The central government will give an incentive of Rs. 165 crore to DTC for these 300 electric buses.
