The Government is celebrating “Jan Aushadhi Diwas 2023” for a week from 1st March to 7th March 2023.
5th Jan Aushadhi Divas 2023 under Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) in collaboration with Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), the implementing agency of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Pariyojana and States and Union Territories is celebrating.
On this occasion, celebrations are being organized all over the country with great zeal and enthusiasm.
It is being celebrated under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP).
The government has set a target of increasing the number of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs) to 10,000 by the end of December 2023.
The prices of medicines available under Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana range from 50% to 90% less than the prices of branded medicines. During the financial year (2021-22), PMBJP has achieved sales of more than Rs 1100 crores in the current financial year, thereby saving about Rs 6600 crores to the citizens.
