Indigenously developed helicopter-launched anti-tank guided missile ‘HELINA’ was successfully test-fired in high altitude areas on 11 April 2022. The test was jointly conducted as part of User Authentication Trials by teams of scientists from Defense Research and Development Organization, Indian Army and Indian Air Force.
The tests were conducted from an Advanced Light Helicopter & missile was successfully fired at a simulated tank target. The missile is guided by an Infrared Imaging Seeker which works in lock on mode before launch. It is one of the most advanced anti-tank weapons in the world.
