Asia’s largest Tulip Garden opened for public in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar.

  • In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, The Indira Gandhi Tulip Garden, (Asia’s largest Tulip Garden) has been thrown open to the public in Srinagar on 19 March 2023.
  • Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha participated in the opening ceremony and invited people from all over the world to visit J&K and discover the mesmerizing beauty of 1.6 million tulip flowers and enjoy the warm hospitality of the people of J&K.
  • The Lt Governor said that an unprecedented 3.60 lakh tourists had visited the Tulip Garden last year and he was confident that this year the number would further increase.

The Indira Gandhi Tulip Garden, (Asia’s largest Tulip Garden) :

The Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden is a tulip garden at the First Model Floriculture Centre, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. Spread over an area of ​​about 30 hectares (74 acres), it is the largest tulip garden in Asia. It is situated at the base of Zabarwan range, built on sloping ground in terraced style with seven terraces overlooking Dal Lake. The garden was opened in 2007 with the aim of promoting floriculture and tourism in the Kashmir Valley. It was earlier known as Siraj Bagh.
