Assam government launched ‘Orunodoi 2.0’ scheme to benefit over 10 lakh people.

  • Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on 14th December launched ‘Orunodoi 2.0’, the state government’s flagship scheme aimed at providing financial security to economically disadvantaged families.
  • The objective of this scheme is to help 17 lakh women in the state. Under this scheme, women will get Rs 1,250 in their bank account every month.
  • The criteria have also been fixed for the beneficiaries while selecting them for the Orunodoi 2.0 scheme. For example, the woman who wants to take advantage of the scheme should be a permanent resident of Assam.
  • With this, the overall household income should be less than Rs 2 lakh per annum. Families in which any member is dwarf or suffering from Cerebral Palsy, ASD and more will also be covered in this scheme.
