Bangladesh-India bus services resume after two years

Passenger bus service between Bangladesh and India resumed on 10th June morning with the flagging off of a Dhaka to Kolkata bus. The flag off marked the inauguration of bus services between the 2 countries through the Akhaura-Agartala & Benapole-Haridaspur Integrated Check Posts (ICPs).

The inauguration of the passenger train service between the two countries came less than two weeks after the Dhaka-Kolkata and Kolkata-Khulna bus-services were flagged off on May 29 with the Maitree Express and Bandhan Express trains respectively. A new bi-weekly train named Mithali Express between New Jalpaiguri and Dhaka was also flagged off by the Railway Ministers of India and Bangladesh on 1st June.
