India is celebrating 58th BSF Raising Day on 1st December 2022. This is the first time that the Raising Day Parade of India’s first line of defense is being held in Punjab and for the second time outside the national capital.
The 58th Raising Day parade of the Border Security Force (BSF) will be held on December 4 at the Guru Nanak Dev University campus.
History :
The BSF was formed on 1 December 1965 as a unified central agency to ensure the security of India’s borders and matters connected therewith after the Indo-Pak and Indo-China wars. It is one of the five Central Armed Police Forces of the Union of India and stands as the largest border guarding force in the world.
Border Security Force (BSF)
The Border Security Force (BSF) guards India’s borders, also known as the first line of border defense of Indian territory. It guards the Indian border with Pakistan and Bangladesh. The objective of BSF was to ensure the security of the borders of the country. It is one of the five Central Armed Police Forces of the country, controlled by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
