- The Cabinet approved the National Green Hydrogen Mission with an initial outlay of Rs 19,744 crore.
- Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Singh Thakur said that under this mission, 50 lakh tonnes of green hydrogen would be produced every year.
- With this, one lakh crore rupees can be saved every year on the import of fossil fuels.
- He said that the objective of the mission is to make the country a hub for production, utilization and export of green hydrogen.
