Closing Ceremony of 36th National Games in Surat on 12th October.

  • The 36th National Games concluded with a grand ceremony on 12th October in Surat. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar presided over the closing ceremony.
  • Lok Sabha Speaker Om Prakash Birla, Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Sports Minister Harsh Sanghvi, dignitaries of the sports world, and a large number of players participated in the ceremony.
  • On the closing day 12th October, Seva topped the medal tally with a total of 128 medals including 61 Gold, 35 Silver and 32 Bronze medals.
  • Maharashtra secured the No. 2 position with 140 medals including 39 gold & Haryana No. 3 with 116 medals with 38 gold.
  • Harshika Ramachandran from Karnataka won the Best Female Player of the 36th National Games & Sajan Prakash of Kerala won the Best Male Player of the Games award.
  • Around 7500 players from 36 states and union territories participated in 36 types of sports competitions organized in six cities of the state.
