Competition Commission of India imposed a fine of Rs 936 crore on Google for abuse of dominant position.

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) on 25th October imposed a monetary fine of Rs 936.44 crore on Google, besides ordering it to stop abusing its dominant position and refrain from such activity in terms of its Play Store policies. The commission also directed Google to rectify its conduct within a stipulated time frame.
CCI has found the US tech giant guilty of abusing its market position to promote its payments app and in-app payment system.
The commission has directed Google to cease and desist from engaging in anti-competitive practices.
