DRDO successfully flight tested indigenous power take off shaft on LCA Tejas in Bengaluru.
The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has successfully conducted the first flight-test of the Power Take Off (PTO) shaft on the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA Tejas) Limited Series Production (LSP)-3 aircraft in Bengaluru.
The PTO shaft has been indigenously designed and developed by the Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (CVRDE), Chennai of the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
The PTO shaft, which is a critical component in aircraft, will support the requirements of future fighter aircraft and their variants and offer competitive cost and short lead times of availability.
The PTO shaft was designed with a unique innovative patented ‘Frequency Spanning Technology’ which enables it to negotiate various operating engine speeds.
