DRDO successfully test-fires indigenously developed Laser-guided ATGM from MBT Arjun

  • The indigenously developed Laser-Guided Anti-Tank Guided Missile ATGM was successfully test-fired on 4th August 2022 by Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) & the Indian Army from the main battle tank MBT Arjun at the KK range at Armored Corps Center and School Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.
  • The missiles struck with precision and successfully destroyed targets at two different ranges.
  • The telemetry system has recorded satisfactory flight performance of the missiles.
  • The All-Indigenous Laser Guided (ATGM) Explosive Reactive Armor uses a tandem high explosive anti-tank heat warhead to defeat ERA protected armored vehicles. The ATGM has been developed with multi-platform launch capability and is currently undergoing technical evaluation trials with 120 mm rifled gun of MBT Arjun.
