- Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) celebrated the organization’s 65th Foundation Day, which is celebrated every year on 1st January.
- Two books including articles on defense technologies and a dictionary on scientific and technical terminology, Stores Manual and Guidelines (SMG-2023), Bi-monthly Bulletin Insight and DRDO Technology Foresight were also released during the event organized to mark the occasion. Also included was a third anniversary issue.
- DRDO Calendar 2023 was also released on the occasion. In addition, Secretary DD R&D and Chairman DRDO felicitated all the employees who completed 25 years of their service in DRDO.
About the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) :
It is a premier defense research and development agency under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. It is working on several cutting-edge military technology areas, like aeronautics, armaments, electronics, combat vehicles, engineering systems, instrumentation, missiles, advanced computing and simulation, special materials, naval systems, life sciences, training, information systems and agriculture. DRDO was formed in 1958 from the amalgamation of the then already functioning Technical Development Establishment (TDEs) of the Indian Army and the Directorate of Technical Development & Production (DTDP) with the Defence Science Organisation (DSO).
