  • Led by Ben Stokes with the bat and Sam Curran with the ball, England overcame a stiff challenge from Pakistan to win the World Cup.
  • They are the first team to hold the ODI and T20 World Cups at the same time since their memorable win over New Zealand in the 2019 50-over final at Lord’s.
  • England chased down the lowly target of 138 with one over to spare. Opener Jos Buttler set the pace with a 17-ball 26, with Ben Stokes finishing the innings brilliantly with an unbeaten 52.
