  • This year’s competition features 16 teams, including the hosts, India. Two teams from each group that advance to the knockout round.
  • FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, the biennial international women’s youth football championship was scheduled to take place in India in 2020, but it was pushed back due to the coronavirus pandemic. The country retained the hosting rights for the 2022 edition.
