Former Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi has passed away at 88.

Former Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi has passed away at 88. His health deteriorated on 7 January. He breathed his last at home on the morning of 8 January.
Born on 10th November 1934 in the then Allahabad, Tripathi was also a senior advocate in the Allahabad High Court.
He joined the RSS when he was just 12 and later moved to the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. He was jailed in Naini Central Jail in 1953 for participating in the ‘Kashmir Movement’ and again in 1990 for participating in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement.
He served as the Governor of West Bengal from July 2014 to July 2019. He also had additional charge for short stints as Governor of Bihar, Meghalaya and Mizoram. He was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was thrice Speaker of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly and President of Bharatiya Janata Party, Uttar Pradesh.
