- Goa and Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (D&NH and D&D) have become the 1st “Har Ghar Jal” certified States and Union Territories respectively in the country, where people from all villages have declared their village as “Har Ghar Jal” through a resolution passed by Gram Sabha, certifying that safe drinking water is available through taps to all households in the villages, ensuring that “No One is Left Out”.
- Potable water is available through tap connections to all 2.63 lakh rural households in Goa and 85,156 households in Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu (D&NH and D&D).
- Despite facing various hurdles and challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic, the consistent efforts of Panchayat representatives, water committees, District and State/UT officials of Goa and D&NH and D&D achieved this feat.
- All schools, Anganwadi centres, public institutions including Gram Panchayat buildings, health centres, community centres, ashrams and other government offices now have access to potable water through tap connections.
