Each year, in honor of the birthday of former Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, India observes “Good Governance Day”.The day is dedicated to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Prime Minister Narendra Modi 2014 announced that “Good Governance Day” will be celebrated on 25th December in the memory of the former PM.
About Atal Bihari Vajpayee :
Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was born on December 25, 1924 in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. He was elected thrice as the Prime Minister of the country. In 1996, he was elected as the Prime Minister of the country for the first time. Significantly, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the first head of state to address the United Nations in Hindi. He was awarded the “Bharat Ratna” award on 27 March 2015.
