The government has approved the creation of a new weapon systems arm in the Indian Air Force.
This branch will enhance the combat fighting capability of the Indian Air Force.
The Defense Ministry said the branch will include operators in four specialized streams of surface-to-surface missiles, surface-to-air missiles, remotely operated aircraft, and weapon system operators in twin-multi-crew aircraft .
The ministry said, the creation of the Weapon Systems Wing would require amalgamation of all weapon system operators under a single unit.
