Health Ministry received the Porter Prize 2023 for the government’s strategy in managing COVID-19.

  • In a significant achievement towards honoring the efforts in the health sector and especially in Covid management, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India has received the Porter Prize 2023.
  • The award was announced at ‘The India Dialogue’ organized by the Institute for Competitiveness (IFC) Stanford University’s US Asia Technology Management Center (USATMC) on 23 & 24 Feb 2023.
  • The theme of the conference was “Indian Economy 2023 : “Innovation, Competitiveness and Social Progress”.
  • The award recognizes the strategy, approach adopted by the Government of India in the management of COVID-19 and the involvement of various stakeholders in the industry, especially the ASHA workers, for making PPE kits.
  • It was also noted that “the level at which India achieved on the idea of ​​vaccine development and vaccine manufacturing was excellent. India has distributed over 2.5 billion doses today, which has been amazing. The Ministry has taken all necessary steps to deal with the COVID situation in the country.
