Henley Passport Index 2023: Japan retains its top position.

In January 2023, Japan has retained its position as the most favorable passport in the world, according to the latest Henley Passport Index, which allows visa-free entry to 193 global destinations.
Japan is at the top for the fifth year in a row. Singapore and South Korea are joint second in the ranking, followed by Germany and Spain and then several other European countries.
The US was among the top 22 with visa-free access to 186 destinations, matched by the likes of Switzerland, New Zealand and Norway.
There has been a two-digit improvement in India’s position as compared to last year. India is ranked 85th in the ranking. An Indian passport holder can travel without a visa to 59 countries, although in 2022 the number was 60.
