India announced 100 million Maldivian rufiyaa for community development projects in Maldives.

External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar reached Maldives on 18 January as part of his three-day visit to Maldives and Sri Lanka.
To strengthen bilateral ties, India and Maldives signed an MoU on development projects and held talks with top leadership in the country.
Dr Jaishankar announced an additional grant of Maldivian rufiyaa (Maldives’ currency) 100 million for more such community development projects.
Dr. Jaishankar and his Maldivian counterpart also reviewed several other ongoing projects, including the Greater Male Connectivity Project and the construction of 4,000 social housing units.
India has handed over two marine ambulances to assist the Maldivian National Defense Force (MNDF).
