India, Japan to conduct joint exercise ‘Veer Guardian-2023’ to boost air defense cooperation.

  • India & Japan are set to conduct a joint air exercise, ‘Veer Guardian-2023’ involving the Indian Air Force and Japan Air Self Defense Force (JASDF) at Hyakuri Air Base in Japan from 12th January.
  • The aim of the joint exercise which will continue till 26th January is to boost air defense cooperation between the countries.
  • The Indian contingent participating in the air exercise will comprise four Su-30 MKIs, two C-17 and one IL-78 aircraft, while the JASDF will participate with four F-2 and four F-15 aircraft.
  • Exercise ‘Veer Guardian’ will strengthen the long standing bond of friendship and enhance avenues of defense cooperation between the two Air Forces.
