- India has successfully conducted a night trial of the nuclear-capable ballistic missile Agni V, which is capable of hitting targets up to 5,000 km with a high degree of accuracy.
- The missile was test-fired on 15th December at 5.30 pm from APJ Abdul Kalam Island off Odisha coast.
- This was the latest test of the Agni missile series.
- The test was conducted to validate new technologies and equipment on the missile which is now lighter than before.
