India has voted in favour of the UNSC resolution on the mental health of UN peacekeepers.
India’s Permanent Ambassador to the UN Ruchira Kamboj said, as one of the largest troop contributing countries over the years, India attaches the highest importance to the safety, security and well-being of UN peacekeepers.
She said mental health is an essential component of overall health, and India is familiar with the difficult and demanding environment in which UN peacekeepers work.
She said that therefore, for the health and well-being of UN soldiers, all the member countries should unite and pay attention to this.
