India will host the Presidency of G20 for 1 year.

  • India will host G20 Leaders’ Summit at the level of Heads of State & Government in New Delhi on 9th & 10th September 2023.
  • India will assume the presidency of the G20 for a period of one year from 1st December 2022 to 30th November 2023. It is expected to host over 200 G20 meetings across the country.
  • The G20 is an intergovernmental forum of the world’s major developed & developing economies. It includes 19 countries including Australia, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, UK, USA, European Union.
  • G20 accounts for 85% of global GDP, 75% of international trade and two-thirds of the world population, making it a major platform for international economic cooperation. India is currently part of the G20 Troika which includes Indonesia, Italy & India.
  • Indonesia and Brazil will form the troika. It will be the 1st time that the troika will include 3 developing countries & emerging economies.
