India will host G20 Leaders’ Summit at the level of Heads of State & Government in New Delhi on 9th & 10th September 2023.
India will assume the presidency of the G20 for a period of one year from 1st December 2022 to 30th November 2023. It is expected to host over 200 G20 meetings across the country.
The G20 is an intergovernmental forum of the world’s major developed & developing economies. It includes 19 countries including Australia, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, UK, USA, European Union.
G20 accounts for 85% of global GDP, 75% of international trade and two-thirds of the world population, making it a major platform for international economic cooperation. India is currently part of the G20 Troika which includes Indonesia, Italy & India.
Indonesia and Brazil will form the troika. It will be the 1st time that the troika will include 3 developing countries & emerging economies.
