Indian Railways has converted 500 Mail Express trains into Superfast class.
In addition, 130 services (65 pairs) have also been speeded up by converting to superfast category.
The Ministry of Railways has released its new All India Railway Time Table, which has become effective from 1st October 2022. The new All India Railway Time Table is also available on the official website of Indian Railways from 1st October, 2022.
Overall the average speed of all trains has increased by about 5%, leaving about 5% additional routes available for operation of more trains.
The punctuality for Mail Express trains of Indian Railways during the year 2022-23 stood at around 84%, which is about 9 per cent higher than the punctuality of 75% in 2019-20.
