India’s first pure green hydrogen plant commissioned in Assam

Oil India Limited (OIL) on commissioned India’s first 99.999% Pure Green Hydrogen Pilot Plant with an installed capacity of 10 kg per day at its Jorhat Pump Station in Assam on 24 April 2022, with the India has taken the first important step towards green hydrogen economy. Plant has been commissioned in a record time of 3 months.

Mr Sushil Chandra Mishra, Chairman & Managing Director, inaugurated the plant in the presence of Mr Harish Madhav, Director (Finance) & Mr Prasanta Borkakoty, Resident Chief Executive of the company. Plant produces Green Hydrogen from the electricity generated by existing 500kW Solar plant using a 100 KW Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyser array. The Anion Exchange Membrane (AEM) technology is being used for the first time in India.
