Indo-Nepal Joint Training Exercise “SURYA KIRAN-XVI” Begins at Nepal Army Battle School, Saljhandi (Nepal)

  • The 16th edition of Indo-Nepal joint military training exercise between the armies of India and Nepal “SURYA KIRAN-XVI” will be conducted at Nepal Army Battle School, Saljhandi in Nepal from 16 to 29 December 2022.
  • Exercise “Surya Kiran” is conducted annually between India and Nepal with the objective of enhancing interoperability in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations in jungle warfare and anti-terrorist operations in mountainous areas under the mandate of the United Nations.
  • Jawans of Sri Bhawani Baksh Battalion from Nepal Army and 5 GR Jawans of Indian Army will participate in this exercise session.
  • The joint military exercise will enhance the level of defense cooperation which will further boost bilateral relations between the two countries.
