Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) was held from 8 to 11 February 2023 in New Delhi.

  • India organized a special round of negotiations for the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) in New Delhi in the period 8 to 11 February 2023. The 2nd pillar (supply chain), 3rd pillar (clean economy) and 4th pillar (fair economy) of IPEF were discussed in this round.
  • About 300 officials from India, United States of America, Australia, Brunei, Fiji, Indonesia, Japan, Republic of Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam participated in the deliberations.
  • The Chief Negotiators of all IPEF partner countries attended the traditional lamp lighting ceremony along with the Commerce Secretary.
  • Commerce and Industry Minister called for focus on early harvesting of mutually beneficial deliverables.
  • Emphasis was placed on common tangible benefits such as technical assistance, investments, innovative projects including capacity building, sharing of expertise and best practices.
