International Day of Peace 2022 : 21st September

International Day of Peace is celebrated globally on 21st September. The United National General Assembly marks this day by promoting the ideals of non-violence and peace among nations and peoples by observing a ceasefire.

International Day of Peace was observed on 16 September 2022 at the United Nations Headquarters. The program began with a traditional peace bell ceremony at the Peace Garden.
The peace bell was donated by the United Nations Organization of Japan in 1954. It has become a tradition to ring the bell twice a year : on the first day of spring, on the vernal equinox, and on 21st September to celebrate International Day of Peace.
