In December 2018, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a Resolution declaring 2020 as the International Year of Plant Health (IDPH). The purpose of the International Year of Plant Health was to raise global awareness on how protecting plant health can help end hunger, reduce poverty, protect the environment & boost economic development.
The United Nations recently announced that 12th May will be marked as International Day of Plant Health (IDPH). The day was promoted by Zambia and and acted upon by the United Nations General Assembly. The resolution under which they made the decision included Finland, Bolivia, the Philippines, Pakistan, & Tanzania.
