Jacinda Ardern announced her resignation as the Prime Minister of New Zealand.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern will step down in February. Ms Ardern will also not contest the 14 October general election.
The prime minister told reporters that 7th February would be his last day in office.
Ms Jacinda Ardern became the world’s youngest female head of government when she was elected Prime Minister in 2017 at the age of 37.
The ruling New Zealand Labor Party’s vote for a new leader will take place on 22nd January, with the party’s leader being prime minister until the next general election.
