Launching of first MCA Barge Yard 75 (LSAM 7) barge at M/s SECON, Visakhapatnam.

The Missile Cum Ammunition (MCA) Barge, Yard 75 (LSAM 7) was commissioned by Rear Admiral Sandeep Mehta, ACWP&A at Gutendevi, the launch site of M/s SECON, Visakhapatnam on 24 February 2023.
Fitted with all major and ancillary equipment/systems from indigenous manufacturers, this Barge is proud flag bearer of “Make in India” initiative of Ministry of Defence.
08 x MCA Barge The contract for the construction of the small warship was signed with M/s SECON, a Visakhapatnam-based Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise in line with the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative of the Government of India.
This Barge is being built with a service life of 30 years.
The availability of MCA Barges will provide impetus to Operational commitments of IN by facilitating Transportation, Embarkation and Disembarkation of articles / ammunition to IN Ships both alongside jetties and at outer harbours.
