- On 20 December 2022, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has nominated veteran former athlete and MP PT Usha to the panel of Vice-Chairmen in the Upper House.
- PT Usha was also recently elected the President of the Indian Olympic Association.

PT Usha is a player from the state of Kerala, India. In 1976, the Kerala state government opened a sports school for women and Usha was elected as the representative of her district. Considered the queen of Indian track and field, PT Usha has been in Indian sports since 1979. He is one of the best players India has ever produced. The successes and fame that PT Usha has achieved in the nineties, no Indian female athlete could achieve before them. She is currently considered the best female athlete in Asia. PT Usha is also known as Udan Pari.
