LG Asim Munir appointed as new Chief of Pakistan Army Staff.

In Pakistan, Lieutenant General Asim Munir was appointed as the new Chief of Army Staff on 24th November 2022.
He will take over from outgoing General Qamar Javed Bajwa, who will retire at the end of November 2022 after a tenure of six years.
Pakistan’s Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb said that Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has decided to appoint Lieutenant General Sahir Shamshad Mirza as the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Lieutenant General Syed Asim Munir as the Chief of the Army Staff.
