Under the framework of the G20, the Ministry of Tourism will hold its first Tourism Working Group meeting from 7 to 9 February 2023 in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat.
There are 5 inter related priority areas for tourism in the G20. Accordingly, thrust will be on these 5 priorities areas i.e. Greening the tourism sector, harnessing the power of digitization, empowering youth with skills, promoting MSMEs/Startups in the tourism sector and rethinking the strategic management of destinations.
The G20 will help raise awareness about India’s tourism potential globally as the delegates from the meetings at 55 different locations will be exposed to Indian culture and tourist destinations.
Shri Arvind Singh said that to take advantage of the chairmanship of G20, 3 mega events related to tourism are being organized. These include the Global Investors Summit, the MICE Convention and the World Tourism CEO Forum meeting in April. These events are in addition to the G20 related events.
