To promote and encourage new businesses in the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on 15 January 2022 that 16 January every year would be celebrated as ‘National Startup Day’.
In the year 2022, India celebrated the first ‘National Startup Day’.
This year, as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, several events were organized at over 75 locations in the country with an aim to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation by involving the startup community.
The ‘Startup India Innovation Week’ was organized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry from 10 to 16 January 2023.
