National Voters’ Day – 25 Jan : Biggest festival of democracy

  • 25 Jan is celebrated as National Voters Day in India, the general election is the biggest festival of democracy, vote has its own importance in democracy.
  • The biggest role in forming the government in any democratic country is – that of general public that is the voters.
  • The Election Commission was established on ’25 – Jan-1950′.
  • On this day the Election Commission encourages voters to vote every year by handing over identity cards by identifying the youth who have turned Eighteen to make voters aware of the vote.
  • Every year a theme is kept on Voter’s Day, this year’s theme is – Making elections inclusive, accessible & participatory.
