NHAI enters Guinness World Records for laying 75 Km long continuous Bituminous Concrete Road in record 105 hours and 33 minutes.

The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, on 8th June 2022 announced the new Guinness World Record set by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in laying 75 km of bituminous concrete in a single lane on NH53 in 105 hours & 33 minutes.

Mr. Gadkari said that NHAI has created a world record on the completion of 75 years of India’s independence and under the Amrit Mahotsav declared by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, which has been certified by Guinness World Records. Mr. Gadkari informed that a record has been set for laying 75 km bituminous concrete in a single lane in 105 hours and 33 minutes on NH 53 between Amravati and Akola districts of Maharashtra.The total length of the single-lane continuous bituminous concrete road is 75 km equivalent to 37.5 km of two-lane paved shoulder road. He informed that this work started on 3rd June 2022 at 7:27 am & was completed on 7th June 2022 at 5 pm.
