Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the country’s largest hockey stadium on 5th January 2023.
Built at an estimated cost of ₹261 crore, the stadium is named Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium Complex, situated at Rourkela, India.
It has been built over 50 acres in a record time of 15 months with a seating capacity of 20,000 people.
The stadium also has practice centers with certified turf and lighting. The state has also built a World Cup village, which has 225 rooms to house players and officials within nine months.
