Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, launched the National Logistics Policy (NLP) on 17th September at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The objective of the National Logistics Policy is to promote smooth movement of goods across India and to promote the competitiveness of Indian goods in domestic & international markets.
It aims to reduce logistics cost, which in turn will improve the efficiency of various sectors of the economy, promote value addition & economic growth.
The policy was announced for the 1st time in the Union Budget 2020.
