  • Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, launched the National Logistics Policy (NLP) on 17th September at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
  • The objective of the National Logistics Policy is to promote smooth movement of goods across India and to promote the competitiveness of Indian goods in domestic & international markets.
  • It aims to reduce logistics cost, which in turn will improve the efficiency of various sectors of the economy, promote value addition & economic growth.
  • The policy was announced for the 1st time in the Union Budget 2020.
