Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the National Aadi Mahotsav on February 16, 2023 at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in New Delhi.
The present edition of the flagship event of TRIFED has the theme of “A Celebration of the Spirit of Tribal Crafts, Culture, Cuisine and Commerce”
The festival will feature exhibition-cum-sale of tribal handicrafts, handlooms, paintings, jewellery, cane and bamboo, pottery, food and natural products, gifts and assortments, tribal cuisine and more to showcase it through 200 stalls .
More than 1000 tribal artisans and artists from 28 States/UTs will participate in Aadi Mahotsav. It also includes tribal chefs from 19 States/Union Territories, for whom 20 food stalls are being set up. Millets have been an integral part of the diet of tribal communities.
In addition, the United Nations has declared the year 2023 as the International Millet Year on the proposal of the Government of India.
To celebrate this and create awareness and increase the production and consumption of tribal millets, tribal artisans from across the country are invited to display and sell millet (Shri Anna) products and delicacies.
