Railways will modernize stations under the AMRIT Bharat Station scheme to improve facilities for passengers.

Ministry of Railways has developed a new plan to modernize more than 1000 minor stations in the year 2023.
The plan envisages continuous development of stations with a long-term vision. Under this, along with new facilities, existing facilities will also be upgraded.
According to the Ministry of Railways, those stations where detailed techno-economic feasibility studies have been done or are being done will also be brought under the purview of this scheme.
The Ministry of Railways has said that the objective of this scheme is to shift non-essential or old buildings at an economical cost to further improve passenger amenities.
