Republic Day celebrations 2023 will be week-long, starting on 23rd to 30th January.

  • The nation will celebrate its 74th Republic Day on 26th January 2023. The Republic Day celebrations will be week-long, starting on 23rd January the birth anniversary of the great national leader Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, and ending on 30th January the Martyr’s Day.
  • The celebrations include the traditional march past on the Path of Duty, a grand parade by contingents of the armed forces and paramilitary forces, display of tableaux by the State and Central Ministries/Departments; Besides the Beating the Retreat ceremony at Vijay Chowk, cultural programs by children, acrobatics by motorcyclists and a fly past and NCC rally by the Prime Minister are included.
Many new programs are being organized in the Republic Day celebrations this year.
  • A military tattoo and tribal dance festival ‘Adi-Shaurya – Parv Parakram Ka’ will be held on 23 & 24 January 2023, at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. 20 tribal dance groups from across the country will perform during the military tattoo event. Around 60,000 spectators are expected to participate in the event.
  • This year also, the three Services organized a virtual and face-to-face interaction of school children with the Gallantry Award winners and students (of class 3rd to 12th) submitted their entries in the form of poems, essays, paintings, multimedia presentations, etc. These were evaluated by a national committee, which selected the Super-25. The winners will be felicitated by Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh on 25th January 2023 in New Delhi. These winners will also participate in the Republic Day Parade.
  • Reflecting the theme of public participation, ‘Bharat Parv’ will be organized by the Ministry of Tourism from 26 to 31 January 2023 at Gyan Path in front of Red Fort, Delhi. It will feature Republic Day tableaux, performance by military bands, cultural programmes, Pan India Food Court & Craft Bazaar.
