Salhoutuonuo Kruse created history on 7 March by becoming the first woman minister of Nagaland.
NDPP candidate Salhoutuonuo Kruse defeated independent candidate Kenizhakho Nakhro by just seven votes.
Besides Kruse, another NDPP candidate Hekani Jakhlu from Dimapur-III constituency also won the 27 February elections to the 60-member assembly. The results of the election were declared on 2 March.
Kruse completed his Pre-University in 1986 from Kohima College. She owns a private school in Chumoukedima district of Nagaland.
