Shaheed Diwas or Martyr’s Day is celebrated in India every year on 23 March to pay homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence of India. This day is the death anniversary of freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivram Rajguru, who sacrificed their lives for India’s independence.
Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev were hanged on 23 March 1931. In India, mainly on 2 dates, Martyr’s Day is celebrated. On this day we pay tribute to the freedom fighters who have sacrificed their lives for their motherland. Martyr’s Day or Martyr’s Day is celebrated on 30 January in the memory of Mahatma Gandhi and on 23 March also Martyr’s Day is celebrated to pay homage to the three revolutionaries of India Bhagat Singh, Shivram Rajguru and Sukhdev.
