Shanti Kumari appointed first woman Chief Secretary of Telangana.

Senior IAS officer A Shanthi Kumari has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Telangana. Shanti Kumari took charge as the first woman Chief Secretary of the state at the Secretariat located at BRK Bhavan.
The government on 11 January appointed Shanti Kumari as the 6th chief secretary of the state after the DoPT relieved Somesh Kumar from the Telangana cadre. She will be in service till April 2025.
Earlier, Somesh Kumar, who was the Chief Secretary, has been sent to Andhra Pradesh on 12th January 2023.
Prior to his appointment as Chief Secretary, IAS officer A.K. Shanti Kumari was holding the post of Special Chief Secretary, Forest.
